Main Duties and Responsibilities

  •   Verify the identification, availability and compliance of raw materials before use;
  •   Read and follow formulations, technical data sheets, work instructions and batch preparation documents;
  •   Measure, weigh and prepare raw materials according to established formulations and procedures;
  •   Load and handle raw materials and products in accordance with safety procedures;
  •   Operate, monitor and adjust industrial mixing and processing equipment;
  •   Monitor instruments, gauges, sensors and control panels;
  •   Monitor production parameters such as flow, speed, temperature, humidity and processing time;
  •   Take samples and perform basic physical or quality control tests;
  •   Accurately record production data, lot numbers, quantities used and test results;
  •   Identify deviations or abnormalities and perform first-level troubleshooting;
  •   Clean equipment and production areas according to established procedures;
  •   Perform basic equipment checks and collaborate with the maintenance team when required;
  •   Move, package and identify raw materials and finished products when required;
  •   Operate a forklift when required and authorized;
  •   Strictly follow health and safety procedures, environmental procedures and requirements applicable to the handling of hazardous materials;
  •   Complete production documentation and maintain material and product traceability;
  •   Collaborate with production, quality, warehouse and maintenance teams.

Requirements

  •   Secondary school diploma or equivalent work experience;
  •   1-2 years work experience in a chemical, industrial, manufacturing or production environment;
  •   Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment;
  •   Experience in chemical mixing, formulation or processing;
  •   Experience operating industrial mixing, blending, processing or other production equipment;
  •   Experience handling hazardous materials and complying with applicable health, safety and environmental procedures;
  •   Knowledge of WHMIS (SIMDUT) and chemical manufacturing processes;
  •   Ability to read and follow work instructions, technical data sheets, formulations, batch records and procedures;
  •   Ability to accurately measure and weigh materials;
  •   Ability to complete production reports and maintain accurate production documentation;
  •   Ability to safely handle, move and store raw materials and finished products in accordance with established procedures;
  •   Valid forklift operator certification and experience operating material handling equipment in a manufacturing or warehouse environment;
  •   Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a production environment;
  •   Ability to perform the physical duties required by the position.

Language Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both languages is not required; the ability to communicate effectively in either French or English is acceptable.

Assets

  •   Experience with sampling and basic quality control testing;
  •   Experience with preventive maintenance or first-level troubleshooting of production equipment;
  •   Experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions

  •   Permanent, full-time position;
  •   30 hours per week;
  •   Work performed on-site in LaSalle, Quebec;
  •   Industrial and production environment;
  •   Personal protective equipment required depending on the tasks performed;
  •   The position may require standing for extended periods and handling materials and products.
